KISSS Below Flow Flat was specifically developed to solve the perennial problem of poor distribution uniformity (DU) of standard drip systems in turf settings. Standard drip tubes provide a single source or point of water from each emitter spaced over specific lengths of tube. The uniformity of water distribution from these drip tubes is “spotty,” causing water to tunnel to the surface and drop downward from the emitters into the sub-soils away from the turf’s roots. Roots tend to clog the emitters as they search for water.
KISSS Below Flow Flat, on the other hand is a low pressure system designed to dispense water from an infinite number of sources along the length of the geo-textile, using a dispersion layer to force the water into the geo-textile, and using an anti-percolation layer to force the water to move upward and outward in the soil surrounding the KISSS product. This creates a consistent wetting pattern and a uniform distribution of water throughout the soil below the turf. Roots do not invade the KISSS emitters because the source of water is the geo-textile and because of an anaerobic condition created between the dispersion layer and the emitters. So not only do the roots not seek the emitting source, they don’t need to! Couple this KISSS innovation with a smart controller, an integrated fertigation system, soil moisture sensors and, voila! a bumper crop of consistently beautiful and healthy turf grass on less water, less fertilizer and chemicals and less energy.
