Landscape And Turf
KISSS Turns Subsurface Irrigation Into More Than Just a "Good Idea" Roughly 30 years ago, subsurface irrigation emerged as an efficient new solution to water wasting overhead systems. Although it has been in-effective for watering turf, subsurface irrigation represented a "great idea" for efficient use of water. KISSS takes the "great idea" of low volume subsurface irrigation and supplies a more effective, efficient, and higher quality product.
KISSS stands for capillary irrigation sub surface system. What this means is that KISSS is the worlds first effective sub surface system. Weather you want a greener field or you want to reduce water consumption by 80%. KISSS capillary irrigation quite simply outperforms every other irrigation systems including sprinklers and sub surface drip.
Scientific Proof
This trial demonstrates the difference of KISSS SCI systems vs. Drip SDI. This trial was conducted by a university under controlled conditions in sandy loam soil. Notice the KISSS Below Flow irrigation system has a wetting pattern over 2X the size of standard subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) systems.
In this trial KISSS Below Flow FLAT and a top of the line drip irrigation system were each ran simultaneously for hours. The drip irrigation system took 6 days to dry down completely. The Below Flow system took 16 days. Watch the videos (below)). Notice the KISSS wetting pattern is so at least twice as large as the drip wetting pattern.

KISSS SCI systems are manufactured in rolls of approximately 650ft. (200m) and installed using a specially designed plow which buries the system below ground at a specified depth (usually determined by a capillary soil test performed by Sustainable Engineering Solutions). If soil testing cannot be performed on a particular project due to time constraints standard spacing is provided in our specification charts.
How KISSS is Installed...
Turf and landscaped areas can be installed very quickly with minimal disturbance to the existing surface. Areas which cannot be installed by the KISSS plow are either trenched in existing applications or placed on the ground and held in place by ground staples. KISSS is installed by certified KISSS contractors only. For more information on getting certified or finding a certified contractor near you CONTACT US. NO Root Intrusion: We have never had issues associated with root intrusion regardless of how integrated roots systems become with Below Flow. Notice how clean the fiber is showing no signs of root intrusion. Subsurface drip irrigation systems experience very high amounts of root intrusion as root systems try and seek out the source of the water. This won't happen with KISSS Below Flow systems since the soil moisture content is even throughout the entire wetted area. |
