KISSS subsurface irrigation comercial turf installation

The KISSS Plow is specialy designed to install KISSS subsurface capillary irrigation

The Specialized KISSS Plow Implement:

KISSS Below Flow Wrap and KISSS Below Flow Flat are installed underground by using the specialized KISSS Plow. Since it can be "plowed" into the ground using our specialized KISSS plow implement it makes installation time and cost much more easy to predict than standard irrigation systems. The plow was engineered to install KISSS below flow systems with minimal disturbance to the existing surface.

This is highly beneficial to existing turf since it allows you to plow the material into the ground and leave the site with nearly zero evidence an extensive subsurface irrigation system was installed.

The KISSS PLOW is capable of installing subsurface irrigation quickly since the machine is designed to accommodate up to 2 or 3 rows at a time. Additional horsepower is required for installing additional lines at a time so please discuss your specific circumstances with a Sustainable Engineering Solutions representative today!  Contact

New Installation:

Below Flow subsurface capillary irrigation can also be installed on prepared ground for new installations.  The KISSS material is laid down on the ground between header and footer pipes (or weave throughout an area using a serpentine installation)

This is a great option for instalations since the system can be tested visually to ensure proper installation procedures were followed.

Soil Testing

We offer various flow rates for our Below Flow products (see specification data for more info) due to the variety of soil types which all hold different water absorbing capabilities.  There is a general reference table for capillary ability of each soil type, however, we always recommend a soil test be accomplished before installation of Below Flow as those numbers are just TYPICAL values form our experience. The KISSS capillary soil test does the following:

  1. Spacing for Below Flow
  2. Depth of Below Flow products
  3. Duration and frequency of irrigation cycles
  4. Soil amendments you may want to consider for optimum plant health and water holding ability
