Improved Weed and Algea Control

Because the surface of pots is drier with Ebb and Flow MAT than it is under overhead irrigation systems, fewer airborne seeds germinate and algae and liverwort growth in greenhouses is inhibited.  Ebb and Flow MAT’s surface should remain relatively dry at all times except in the immediate area of pots being irrigated or during rainfall.  This, and the fact that surface splash of media and fertilizers is minimized, produces a drastic reduction in weed germination between pots and in liverwort and fungal gnats.
