Agriculture Installation

Below Flow FLAT is plowed into the ground 4-12 inches depending on the application.  Below Flow FLAT is best installed with our KISSS plow implement and can be installed at up to 4 lines at one time much like you may have seen with the current drip tape technology on the market.  The KISSS plow can be purchased, leased, or you may use one of our KISSS certified installers for your application.  Please contact Sustainable Engineering Solutions for details.

Agriculture Zone Layout

KISSS Below Flow FLAT is intended to be ran in rows off of a sub main preferably controlled by a zone valve.

In agricultural applications any number of materials can be used for header piping including: PVC pipe, High density polyethylene pipe, lay flat hose, low density polyethylene pipe etc.

Labor saving twist lock fittings are used to secure KISSS Below Flow FLAT Material to the header pipe and flush line at the end of rows.

A number of different components are required for installation, none of which go beyond what would normally be used for surface drip tape systems.  This is what makes KISSS such a great option for retrofitting existing drip systems.

For a basic idea of how a KISSS system is set up please examine the diagram to the left.

Vacuum Relief Valve

Disc Filter

Keeps debris from entering the system and potential blocking emitters from the inside.  SES can provide automatic flushing or "maintenance free" filtration devices.

Valve

Controls each zone by turning it on and off per the settings on the irrigation controller/timer.

Pressure Regulator

Regulates internal pressure of the system.  Below Flow has certain pressure requirements which must be met.  Special valves can be purchased with built in pressure reducer.

Vacume Relife Valve

Allows air to enter the system when it is shut off so emitters at higher elevations don't suck in debris during natural drainage of the system.

PVC Ball Valve

Take-off Fittings

Header Pipe (sub-main)

EZ Flow Fertigation

Applies fertilizer directly through the system under ground.  Very efficient fertilizer application can be achieved saving money and eliminating fertilizer runoff.

Ball Valve

Manual ball valve for scheduled maintenance.  Located at end of footer pipe.  Keeps system free of accumulated debris.

Take off Fittings

A fitting made to connect KISSS Below Flow lines directly to header pipe (sub-main).  A variety of these are available see fittings for details

Header Pipe

Sub main pipe which all Below Flow  lines connect to.  Can be of a variety of material including PVC, Low density polyethylene tubing, lay flat hose etc.  Each zone has it's own header pipe.

Flow Meter (optional)

Pump Station (optional)

Joiner Fittings

Pressure Gauge

Records water usage in a Below Flow system.  Good for comparing Below Flow with other systems.  Only certain flow meters work with Below Flow since it is such low flow.

Sometimes required when ample pressure or flow cannot be achieved from the water source.  Also required when using KISSS SAFETY FLOW gray water irrigation systems.

Joiner

Meant to be used within a system to join Below Flow material together. Comes in a barb form or twist lock fitting.   When doing long rows such as in agriculture these fittings will connect material when rolls are changed during installation.

Pressure Gauge

Shows internal pressure of the system.  Needed to be placed at several points throughout the system ensuring proper pressure is maintained throughout and the correct amount of water is being emitted from the system.
