Subsurface Capillary Irrigation (SCI) Revolution

Why is "Capillary Irrigation Better?

Plants extract water from soil over the range from field capacity down to permanent wilting point.  As the soil dries water becomes progressively more difficult to extract and this reduces canopy growth and what water the plant can access is directed to fruit.

The wide, continuous wetting pattern along the entire row (above left) that stays there longer means KISSS Agriculture gives all plants equal access to water and the larger volume of moist soil means that more nutrients are available to roots.  Every single plant is healthier, more productive and more resilient because the roots are active in a more stable environment and plants tend to have greater uniformity over the whole site.

Soil is also healthier because over-irrigation is no longer necessary to get water to the drier zones.  This uniformity and consistent wetting capability is also present in our nursery container irrigation technology.
KISSS Agriculture allows much greater control over soil moisture and crop development. Plant growth can be maximized by maintaining soil moisture near field capacity or moisture stress can be imposed to limit canopy growth as required during various parts of the season or weather events.  Stronger, healthier plants can better withstand necessary management practices such as pruning in vines. Nutrients delivered in the right quantity at precisely the right time help create more uniform fruit size.
